North Shore on Show for Charity

Telephone counselling services for at-risk young people have received a boost through a fashion show staged by Takapuna-based Morgan & Morgan Hair and Makeup Studio, supported by Wendy Hill Cosmetics.

The show featured the latest in men’s and women’s fashion from leading Takapuna fashion retailers, with hair by Morgan and Morgan stylists, and makeup by Wendy Hill Cosmetics.

The event attracted more than 120 people and raised almost $2000 for Lifeline Aotearoa, which provides a range of telephone and face-to-face counselling services and a suicide crisis helpline.

Morgan and Morgan Director, Steve Morgan, says the decision to support Lifeline Aotearoa was made by the studio’s staff, who considered a number of charities before making the decision.

“Charity is important to us, and we’ve had an active programme of supporting worthy charities since we started in business in Birkenhead 18 years ago,” he says. “We live by the principle of making a meaningful contribution to our community through our business, and events like this also enable our team and our clients to participate with their local community.”

Wendy Hill says her company was delighted to support Morgan & Morgan and Lifeline Aotearoa, which she says does a wonderful job to help young people in crisis.

Lifeline CEO Jo Denvir says such events are very important to her organisation for three reasons: for the funds they provide to the organisation, for the increased community awareness they generate about the work of the organisation, and to increase awareness in the community of the need for volunteers to maintain its services.

She paid tribute to Steve and Jennifer Morgan for organising the event, recognising the work and effort that they and their staff and suppliers had put in to ensure the success of the event.

The show was hosted by TV personalities Jo Holly and Carly Flynn, with makeup done by Amitee Green-Hill, our senior makeup consultant.
