Wendy Hill Cosmetics and leading couture and ready-to-wear designer Liz Mitchell recently joined forces for a fashion show to raise funds for Dress for Success.
The event was staged by the leading Auckland law firm, Bell Gully - one of New Zealand's oldest law firms - and was co-ordinated by Farzana Nizam.
Members of the Women's Lawyers Association were invited and about 80 attended. All products, auction items, catering, food and beverage were donated for the event, and participants all donated their time.
Julie Mackey from Dress For Success spoke about the organisation and what it does to help prepare people for job interviews and entry to the workforce.
The Liz Mitchell fashion show featured her trademark beautiful designer garments modelled by five professional models and six lawyers including District Court Judge, Emma Aitken. The women lawyers wore the garments beautifully, and made the show very real and fun for the audience.
As well as the Liz Mitchell fashions, the evening also included a silent auction and an auction of luxury goods and services, including a package of makeup and skincare from Wendy Hill Cosmetics.
It was very busy in the production room, with stylists from L'Oreal doing the models' hair, and artists from Wendy Hill Cosmetics, Morgan and Morgan Hair and Makeup Studio, and Mink Photography doing the makeup. Wendy Hill Cosmetics supplied all the makeup for the show.
All proceeds from the evening went to Dress for Success.
