Make up diva Wendy Hill combines with Morgan & Morgan Hair & Makeup director Alice Francis to create a look for the summer.

Between a cut and colour and a dreamy, relaxing hair treatment at the divine Morgan and Morgan Hair and Makeup Studio, Wendy discussed a summer makeup look for this issue of Images with Morgan & Morgan director and makeup artist Alice Francis.

The trend for darker, smoky eyes has continued on from winter, worn with the more dramatic styles, so Alice wanted to create a look that embraced the softer, more feminine fashion trend of girly florals and whimsy dresses.

Summer in New Zealand is about sunshine and enjoying the outdoor life with beaches and barbeques, and relaxing summer holidays with family and friends. And, with daylight saving here we've also got long, warm summer evenings to enjoy, so we've gone for a more playful, romantic and colourful makeup mood to match.

Alice started with a honey toned Jojoba Liquid foundation, mixed with a few drops of Bronze Candleglow to enhance her model Allanah's flawless skin with a soft, sun kissed glow. A light touch of Mango-Liscious Mineral Blusher to the apples of her cheeks just highlighted her skin in a natural way.

It's great to experiment and play with eye colour in summer. Pastels and bright eyeshadows are very wearable if applied and blended well. Anything goes as long as the eyeshadow shades chosen enhance the natural colour of the eyes, and don't overwhelm them.

Alice applied a fabulous mix of eyeshadows Pink Glow, Gold Bronze, and Sheer Aqua blending the edges well as she layered the shades, and to strengthen the pigments added Pink Mocha and Gold Bronze eye dusts to those tones.

Black Out Gel eyeliner anchored the colourful shades, and created an edge to the look, and she finished the eyes with lashings of black mascara, combing between each coat for long, luscious lashes.

A soft colour was chosen for Allanah's lips to offset and complement her colourful eye makeup. Alice appliedSpicy Rum lipstick, which has a soft hologram shot finish, and added a touch of Damsel lip gel, for a sexy shine.

Allanah looked stunning with Face and Body Bronzer applied to her body, the bronze and shot-gold tones highlighting her skin and beautifully completing her look.

Alice wanted a soft, natural feel to the hair, creating a feminine style but untamed at the same time.  Allanah's hair was set with heated rollers for a low, unconstructed curl then, without overworking it, styled bunched to the side for a softly loose, tussled beach look.
