Pastel Pretty - How to capture the pastel catwalk look

A softly-softly, delicate pastel palette sets the tone for summer.

Makeup in paler shades will complement a pastel outfit for an overall soft focus, without overwhelming the look.

The key to this soft makeup look is for radiant skin to take centre stage: here’s how to achieve this style.

Face: For beautiful radiant skin, apply Velvet Veil Primer to even out the skin surface and provide a flawless base for the Foundation. A dash of Pearly Pink Highlighter mixed into Liquid Jojoba Foundation will give a dewy, natural finish to the skin. Keep the rest of the face simple: don’t overdo blush or eye makeup.

Eyes: Taylor’s pastel eye makeup was amped up for the red carpet. It’s great for evening wear with the addition of Gel Eyeliner close to the lash line and luscious lashes. For day wear, pare it down to just a soft wash of colour: one shade is enough colour to wear. Pastel eyeshadow shades need to be well blended, especially when applying blues and greens, so as to not look like a doll! Prep the eyelid first with Good Night’s Sleep to keep shadow shades true to colour.

Cheeks: A pop of watermelon on the cheeks with Mango Glow Blusher washed high on the cheekbones, with No Baggage Highlighter for fresh youthfulness.

Lips: Keep lips neutral: eye colour is the focus. Au Natural Lipstick blended softly suits all skin tones.

pastelsTop Tip:

If using eyeliner keep the shade complimentary to the eyeshadow shade.
Summer fashion shades to wear: Pink, honey, soft coral, powder blue, aqua, mint green, lemon, mauve, rose, white.

We love pretty pastel blue shades too. For this look, try Blue Velvet Eyeshadow and apply Gel Eyeliner Tidal Wave as the complementary eyeliner shade.
